Welcome to this short video preeview of the BOYA BY-M1 Lavalier Microphone.
I’ve been using this microphone for a few years and just had to buy a new one, and thought I would share some of the pros and cons for those of you on the lookout for an affordable microphone.
The BOYA BY-M1 Lavalier Microphone is one of the best budget microphones around for video recording. I paid less than 20 EUR for mine, and could not be happier.
This is a omni-directional condenser microphone that can be used for smartphones, DSLR camera, camcorders and other audio recorders and PC’s.
The microphone comes nicely packed with a smart leather bag, and the package also includes a lapel clip, LR44 battery, foam windscreen and adapter.
One of the great things about this lavalier microphone is it’s flexibility. It weighs just 2.5 grams and comes with a 6 meter cable, as well as a nice little leather bag to transport it in.
One of my only beefs with this model was that the 3.5mm connector does not work in my PC, however, I can buy an adapter for it, and you could also say my beef should be with my PC rather than the microhpone.
I personally use this lavalier microphone for creating videos like this one, directly from my Canon camera, but I would also recommend the BOYA BY-M3 model if you plan on using it for your laptop of desktop computer.
The BY-M3 model has a USB-C connector so there’s no need to buy any additional adapters and you’re probably also going to get some better quality that way too.
Conclusion
The BOYA BY-M1 Lavalier Microphone is a compact, high-quality budget microphone that is perfect for the amateur vlogger, podcast host or anyone using video to promote their business or YouTube channel.
